On April 21, I talked with the good people at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore, Oklahoma, about Texas Jack, the rise in popular culture of the American cowboy, and Jack's surprising tie with Will Rogers. Because the Museum and its staff are absolutely top-notch, they broadcast and recorded my talk, so that even if you didn't get a chance to catch it live, you can learn the strange trip the cowboy took from Texas Jack all the way to Will Rogers. I hope you enjoy! And if you're ever in or around Claremore, stop by and check out the museum, see one of historical interpreter Bart's colorful and amusing performances, and learn about the outsized impact Will Rogers—the Cherokee Kid—had on the world. You won't regret it.
